Ok, so in the 70's there were alot of exploitation crap coming out, all under varying types (Brucesploitation, Blacksploitation, etc) Cannibalsploitation was an infamous one. Famous for a shitload of banned films such as Cannibal Holocaust (The most famous one) and more notably Cannibal Ferrox (Which has a happy little scene where a womans breasts are impaled by meathooks and she's strung up by said meathooks...I wish I was making this up. Some demented freak in Italy thought this was a good idea) So, you might ask, why the fuck would this genre of filth be making a comeback? What idiot thinks we need to tribute this disgusting, garbage era of film? Motherfucking, couldn't make a tasteful movie even with a gun to his head Eli Roth.
Firstly, I hate this man. All his movies are fucking terrible. Cabin Fever, Hostel, that movie about the aztec plants. All shit. So his recent farce, Green Inferno is obviously one I'm going to say you shouldn't go see. Since it's Eli Roth. Fuck Eli Roth. Don't give him money. Go see The Martian. It's supposed to pretty good. Rotten Tomatoes score of 94%.
But that's not all. Since I know what you're thinking. "Clone, it's only one film. By a director you obviously don't like. What's the issue?" Bone Tomahawk. A Western Cannibal movie. That has Kurt Russell and Jeff Bridges in it. Because we have to waste literally the best western casting ever on this. Because Kurt Russell and Jeff Bridges are both fucking awesome. Too awesome for this type of movie (and the trailers make it clear Kurt's gonna get offed by the titular Bone Tomahawk. So fuck everything) That's 2 in a row. Enough money comes grosses and we could be swimming in this garbage faster than you can say "Zombie Craze". This is my opinion sure. Since I don't like particularly like gore. But I don't really think a fad like this is a good thing. Since it'll probably make Wendigo Syndrome an actual thing. And Wendigo Syndrome isn't good for anyone. Anyway. Just my piece about the ever declining state of Horror in cinema. Because it just keeps getting worse. Then a little better. Then worse again.
