Having been on this forum since day two, I genuinely have to question whether you're not somehow confusing this place with Stormfront or Ghazi. I mean, I've barely seen anything of a possibly offensive nature on here, and in actuality it's even milder than the BSN it spawned from. So because it's not as offensive as one of the worlds most famously offensive places it's okay?  At what point a person takes offense to something is subjective. Just because it isn't offensive to you, it doesn't suddenly make it okay. A lot of the things people say on these boards is offensive, even when they are clearly joking it is downright cringe inducing. I personally have no problem ignoring it but not everyone is willing to do that. I've lost several friends on these boards already because they simply don't want to put up with it. You can say they are too sensitive and don't belong here and that's fine, it's your right to do so. For me however, when it comes down to either having my friends here to chat with or the "privilege" of listening to you guys spout your childish philosophies or paint the boards with your verbal diarrhea... I'm gonna choose my friends every time. "I don't like your opinion, therefor it's offensive!" Offensive is always taken, never given. You can't hold us accountable for other people taking offensive in the (in my opinion rather mild) things we say. The problem lies with the offended, not with the offender. Either develop a thicker skin or simply block the person who offended you and move the fuck on. |
