I liked Suicide Squad. It was fun to see each of the characters and there were some action sequences that was entertaining. I enjoyed the Joker's performance, had laughed at Deadshot's attitude and appreciated the ruthlessness of their boss. She was exactly what I expected some government agents can be like.
That said, it was probably a bad sign when I started asking questions as to the need of some of the teammates, wasn't it?
With someone like Killer croc or the pyromancer, their skills made sense. But some of the others?
Like, Deadshot's ability is sharpshooting. Impressive sharpshooting, but not restricted to just him for combat. A talented soldier could do it without needing blackmail, right?
And Harley, she's too chaotic for cooperative teamwork, too poorly geared to go for an extended fight. She was wearing no protective armor nor had anywhere near enough ammo for that revolver.
Hush brain, I keep telling it. They're probably just easy cannon fodder to conveniently get rid of. No need to waste soldiers' lives. But when taking the sensitivity of the mission in account and the fact that Amanda Waller was placing her life in undisciplined criminals...good god, I could not shut up the inner critic as to the plot...
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, loved the sheer creepiness of the Enchantress, loved how Waller's plan to leash an ancient entity backfired epically. I don't regret spending money to see it compared to Sausage Party (Don't judge me, I tried to try something new and regretted it horribly)
