I've started adding strength to my cardio work out. I got really out of shape during cancer treatment and then was rather lazy about getting back in shape. It's coming back now and I feel better for it. Look better too. Since muscle weighs more than fat, you can get away with a little extra weight if you're fit. Weight means nothing tbh. A persons weight tells you nothing about how healthy they are. And its for the exact reason you mention, muscle is heavy. Body fat percentage is a far more effective tool, but much harder to calculate then weight. As an aside, if the bmi says your overweight, but you have ab definition, your probably in very good shape, cause your body fat is low, means your carrying lots of muscle.
