This poll was a bit difficult since I read just about anything except romance and drama. Those bore me to no end, why would I wanna read something that more than likely happens every day?

As for nonfiction, I love it. Mostly anything cosmos, historic, biology, marine biology, zoology and shit like that. I believe that your mind should be exercised just as much, if not more, then your body tbh.

As for my options, in case you're wondering, I picked horror, fantasy, sci-fi, historical, mythology, philosophy, biology, zoology, psychology and astronomy.

I like fantasy and horror but recently I've been reading more horror books. So I voted for that. ^^

Not me. xD I hate housewife erotic and so-called romance novels. Also vampire stuff; the endless crime novels bore me as well. Otherwise I don't really care about genres.

I mostly read novels by contemporary German authors noone knows. My absolute favorite book is Herr Der Hörner (Lord of the Horns). I also like American literature for example by Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men) and David Foster Wallace (Infinite Jest).
Travel journals entertain me as well. The funniest I've ever read is almost everything by Nigel Barley, who's a social anthropologist and wrote a bunch of books about his field trips. In a completely unscientific manner. I can also recommend A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again, a travel journal about a trip on a cruise liner (by said author Foster Wallace).

Drama is underrated. By that I mean comedy/tragedy. Like Shakespeare. Schiller, Goethe (I prefer Schiller over Goethe, and Ibsen over Strindberg for that matter). The artificial realism is appealing in a way, moreso when reading it than in the theater. I found your categories to be a bit confusiing, so I voted Drama/Epic on that.

As for non-fiction, it's mostly social sciences, political, history and philosophical stuff. Currently I'm reading the autobiography of another German guy noone knows (the musician Andreas Dorau). Memorable anecdotes. From time to time I also like to browse recipe books, lol. /smartass

I have to admit, I've never read any Harry Potter book, although people keep telling me they're great. I don't know why. I guess I just keep finding books I wanna read first. Maybe when I'm retired. xD

And, yeah, extensive readings for uni make it difficult to read much outside of your academic discipline.
