Who's to say there weren't such trees around and our ancesters didn't simply hack 'em all down and rub their dicks on the splinters to increase their virility?
Or that those trees bioengineered a spaceship and hauled trunk outta here from those crazy humans?
Maybe the only reason our ape ancestors learned to walk is because the trees got fed up with your constant screeching and kicked them out like an abusive jerkass might leave a dog chained to a roadpost because it gnawed on one set of shoes too many?
