About the same - my enthusiasm is around the same for ME:A. Could be good, but I won't be running to Pre-Order a pony or anything yet. Season 5 felt like it was aiming farther than it could reach, especially with the Starlight Glimmer. KP's touched a bit on it and it seemed like too much time was spent on lackluster episodes than focusing on the long-term. Hasbro has a better repute tackling Relationships, Psychological/Social themes, or just going for entertainment value. Maybe they'll skip the Cliched villainy for a while and stick with what they're good at. They've explored CMC plenty - that's how you write Children in an interesting way, and their arc for S5 is part of what kept me going. Bloom & Gloom is still godlike. Parenting beyond Big Sister/Little Sister relationships hasn't been covered much either, so Jumping the Alicorn may just pan out.

The B-Story seems to outweigh the A-Story, and that shouldn't be a surprise based on the character. I like Sunburst's design, and his role with Glimmer is pretty much the highlight of the 2-parter. As a whole... it's alright, but nothing award winning. The 2-parters have always been 50/50 on whether they knock it out of the park, The S4 Opener and both S2 2-parters being the better ones. Very slow paced and quite a few awkward scenes. I think the episode does well in filling the blanks of Starlight while providing some questions on how old god horse baby gets dealt with in the long-term. The tie-in between stories is nice, I suppose. It's worth watching, but not worth diverting one's whole attention.

Final Verdict?

So yeah, Japan is making a game about umamimis. Not at all surprising after the breakout success of Equestria Girls. Good job, Japanese bronies.

It's not an anime, so far as I can tell.
