Huh. So... it's going to be like a funny dude bro film between Hulk and Thor?

...does anyone actually know what Ragnarok is about? Either the comic story or just the myth? I don't see how this movie can be designed to be funny...?

Because that was my problem with Thor the Dark World. There wasn't enough comedy. Not the miriad of other problems it had.

The Thor movies are my least favorite in terms of enjoyment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so not holding much hope or interest in Ragnarok.

Deadpool, well not really that big of a fan, so if it ends up being good, I might go and see it.

Civil War and Doctor Strange however I'm interested in, so gonna wait for those.

I liked Agents of Shield the first season. It was a typical creature-feature of the week kind of setup and had its own little charm.

Then Winter Soldier happened and SHIELD no longer existed. Which was great for the show, as it breathed some serious drama and suspense into the proceedings. But then in Season 2, things just sort of floundered all over the place with the Inhumans plot line. It was good, exciting even... but it became painfully clear that there was absolutely zero chance that the show was ever going to be considered little more than fan fiction to the rest of the MCU universe.

Agent Coulson being the director of SHIELD... except during the movies, when that becomes Maria Hill or even Nick Fury again. Inhumans are now everywhere... except they aren't going to be any of the Inhumans we see in the Inhumans movie coming out in 2018/2019. SHIELD is being rebuilt all of Season 2... except in Avengers 2, when someone else has rebuilt it and done completely different things with it.

At least the Netflix Marvel shows can quite easily operate as their own corners of the universe, playing more "low level" as super-powers in New York's crime ridden neighborhoods. AoS instead pretends to be in the big leagues, touching on movie-level items and topics, only to be brushed off like a clingy little brother when the real movies air.

It's kind of insulting to watch under those pretenses. And the Netflix shows are so much better executed and put together that AoS feels suddenly more like Saturday morning cartoon fare rather than a real addition to the MCU.

Will this happen in the movie? You decide.
