Iron Man 3. Bar none. It's boring schlock that had the potential to be something better, and is such a nothing movie it's largely ignored by the MCU. Agreed. It's basically a poor man's attempt at a James Bond-esque movie. The perfect movie to showcase Warmachine more is instead used to make him an action footnote to the rest of the Iron Man Suit armada. To cap it off, the entire subplot about Tony being shell shocked from Avengers was wasted, as was the bizarre behavior of the Iron Man suits themselves. And then the magic auto-healing substance that also gives fire super powers is just ignored or used as a MacGuffin to heal or fix anything. But its biggest crime is the final scenes. Tony destroys all of his suits, vows to stop being Iron Man, learning his lesson about trying to protect the world with his technology... and then the next time we see him in Age of Ultron, he is Iron Man, with a new army of suits to help and is making a debacle of using his tech to protect the world. It completely ignores the entire movie. If it never aired at all, the lore would remain the exact same, minus some glaring inconsistencies. It brings literally nothing but badness to the table. |
