Age of Ultron was poorly written across the board. I'm not sure to blame Whedon but Tonys whole stance in the CW makes total sense considering the way his character has been going since Iron Man 1. Hell if they're going where I think they are with Spider-Man it'll make even more sense. Dude realized he can't "privatize" world peace like he thought he could in Iron Man 2. It took Pepper leaving and a grieving Mother for him to realize he fucked up. Tonys whole character is he gets wrapped up in his bullshit and can't realize the consequences of what he's doing. Or he shrugs it off because he's Iron Man and can solve all the problems. He's egotistical to a fault.

Vison turned out okay. But he's still has an immensely dangerous infinity gem imbedded in his head. Which means he's inherently dangerous. Considering that thing he did in Civil War. Accidental or not.
