Apparently there is a "softer" version of Brexit that would pass parliament, but it would do so with opposition (Labor) support and split the ruling party(Conservative/Tories). May has been trying to avoid that since it would also leave the UK with much closer ties to the EU, and I agree. I think it was a bad idea to leave, but the UK has had one foot out the door for decades. Why "leave" if the only change is a slight shift out. I'm sure their behavior is annoying the other EU countries as well. Why all this drama and upheaval if you're not going to go. Remaining in this state, with a faction constantly complaining about leaving, just continues to destabilize the EU. can the EU force them out is that an option? From what I understand, if the EU fails to vote to extend article 50, no-deal brexit will trigger automatically after the UK reaches its deadline.
