What did you think? Was a bit long running at over two and a half hours but visually it was stunning and I thought the story was very well done. Random thoughts: SPOILER: Click to show - Los Angeles is as much of a dump as it is in real life. - German garbage-dump people are assholes who want to steal your stereo. - What was firing those missiles? - Wait, was police chief lady hitting on K? - The Soviet Union is still around, cool. - Where is all of this cool stuff like hovercars in our reality? - Wallace is a freak but he has a nice office. - Awkward threesome - Not the bees, don't stick your hand in there stupid! - Was Deckard's dog a replicant? - What happened to Las Vegas? Reactor meltdown? ICBM? Suitcase nuke? - An abandoned casino wouldn't be a bad place to hang out after the apocalypse. - Have America's bladerunners been doing a poor job? I mean they missed a pretty large group it seems. - Badass replicant boss-lady needs to learn to make sure their target is dead - Did Tyrell Corporation set up Deckard way back in the first movie? Are any of these giant corporations not owned by people who are crazy? - That future looks like it has no Facebook or Twitter, must be nice. - Those handguns bladerunners have are cool, no weakly 9mm for them.

Seen it three times already. The visuals were, as Villenueve's movies usually look, astonishingly naturalistic, but the soundtrack gets a bit out of control at the climax. The story was interesting and clear enough on the first viewing, and K's journey through it was gut-wrenching - what a mind-fuck. I did notice a few extra things on subsequent viewings: SPOILER: Click to show - All the ladies were hitting on K: His boss, the replicant prostitute, his AI Joy, and even the replicant killer Luv. - Only realized Joy was giving herself away with the emitter alerts on the second viewing. My phone does the same thing. - Only realized the replicant prostitute had the same memory of the carving as K on the second viewing - Only realized the badass replicant boss lady was missing her left eye on the third viewing - Only realized the orphanage with inside the relic of beached rusting tanker on the third viewing - Because the emitter is a device that appears to be designed for Joy by her creators, the fact that she drops hints about wanting it sort of smacks of built-in advertising. Calls her whole character journey into question. like I said - what mind-fuck.

I'm not certain what else he has directed but I'll have to look it up. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it a second time. Why don't we have holo-waifus in this reality yet?

Feel bad. I guess it didn't do good in the box office, but the first Bladerunner did pretty bad too so it kinda works.
