Yeah hearing all sorts of reports coming in from eyewitnesses and reporters, waiting to see confirmation for some of them (though also hoping some of them are untrue).

Hearing that there have been quite a few fatalities but I wouldn't say anything concrete yet.

I do hope that everyone involved gets out with a few injuries as possible and the attackers are extremely incompetent.

6 dead so far. Over 30 injured. 3 terrorists shot and killed. By the looks of it it could have been a lot worse.

Wish people would let the bodies get cold first

Its becoming clear that the more the media sensationalizes these terrorist attacks the more frequently they occur. Park Dietz has made suggestions for the media on how to report a mass murder the same can be applied to a terrorist attack.

1. Don't start the story with sirens blaring.
2. Don't have photographs of the killer.
3. Don't make this 24/7 coverage.
4. Do everything you can not to make the body count the lead story.
5. Not to make the killer some kind of anti-hero.
6. Do localise this story to the affected community and as boring as possible in every other market.

Note that's he not advocating censorship he asking the media not to give terrorist, mass murders etc. the notoriety they want.

The group No Notoriety is trying to reform reporting of mass murderers, terrorist attacks etc. so the media doesn't unintentionally encourage more attacks.

I've seen a lot of this discussed before over here. I know a number of people that agree and feel strongly about every point you just made. There was a couple news stations/papers around here that decided to make their stories focus much more on the victims (although not just like the body count) rather then the killers as a result.
