The Dino Gems aren't a bad explanation for the connection to the morphing grid (and Dino Thunder itself isn't a bad season). But Zordon is a space wizard to begin with, so it's not entirely necessary.

Maybe it's like Beast Wars and Zordon scanned for the nearest animal life when he came to Earth and made the power coins and Zords based from the ambient Saber-toothed tigers, Woolie Mammoths, and Dinosaur fossils.

They have actually. When I went to see Jungle Book there was a promo right before the trailers that was just the cast saying the movie existed.

Well, in MMPR the girls wore yellow and pink. That varied a bit in later seasons (e.g.: Tori wearing blue in Ninja Storm or Alyssa wearing white in Wild Force).

I doubt it. That's way later in the timeline.

Let me put it like this. Terra Venture had nothing to do with the original cast. Which is what the new movie is about.
And just throwing in the fact Earth is capable of making giant Space Colonies with cities and bio-domes is a little out there. It's a bit beyond where the tech level should be for normal Earth.

An Earth that had been under constant Alien attacks for years.
In Space (Season before Lost Galaxy) ends with a big Alien invasion.

So it's not what I'd call ordinary.

And like BioWare games, the women are wearing heels.
