Here's a simple checklist for film rights.
OWNED BY MARVEL/DISNEY The Avengers (Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Falcon, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Black Panther, etc) The Guardians of the Galaxy + Nova Whoever is on Agents of SHIELD (Predominantly original characters except Quake) Doctor Strange Ghost Rider (Reacquired from Sony) Daredevil (Reacquired from Fox) Luke Cage Jessica Jones The Punisher (Re-acquired from Lions Gate Entertainment) Captain Marvel The Inhumans (Includes characters like Ms. Marvel) Blade (Reacquired from New Line Cinema) Howard The Duck (Reacquired from George Lucas' Dumpster) Every other character that's not affiliated with the below (Moon Knight, Squadron Supreme, Nighthawk, etc)
OWNED BY 20th CENTURY FOX X-Men (Including the word "Mutant") Deadpool The Fantastic Four (Including Silver Surfer, Skrulls, Galactus, and Kang The Conqueror)
OWNED BY SONY/Columbia Pictures Spider-Man Spider-Woman (I think)
OWNED BY UNIVERSAL PICTURES The Incredible Hulk (Technically) Namor The Sub Mariner
OWNED BY HASBRO/PARAMOUNT PICTURES Rohm Spaceknight
Shared characters The Maximoff Twins (Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch) Reason: Loophole. Prominent Avengers characters. Spider-Man (Probably Spider-Woman as well) Reason: Agreement. Sony (Film studio anyway) needs money, and knows Marvel can make money. The Incredible Hulk Reason: Reverted rights, however Universal retains the rights to distribute Solo Hulk films, which is why Marvel isn't making Planet Hulk any time soon.
UNKNOWN Man-Thing Reason: Who cares about Man-Thing?
Hopefully this clears everything up.
