So I've now started Y after they took forever to deliver everything to me, and not that these games have ever been anything remotely hard when playing through the regular content, but this is super EZ mode. Had to turn off that Exp. share soon after getting it after realizing just how absurdly OP it is and how it trivializes battling, even without a single second of grinding for exp I'd probably be rocking a full lvl 80-90 team by the time I'm at the Elite 4 if I kept it activated.
Another thing that kinda bugs me but is also convenient is just how many strong Pokemon the game throws at you right from the start to catch or just receive, getting two starters within moments of starting the game, and having a wide variety of stuff even in just the first few routes that when fully evolved are stronk af. Like having super early and easy access to stuff like Ralts, Riolu, Honedge, Azurill, an unmissable Snorlax, that one Fairy type that looks like it should be part Grass but isn't... and this is only from what's available before you're even at the second gym AND I'm probably still blanking on and missing some obvious powerhouse(s) from that list. Convenient to be sure to not have to wait until just before the Elite 4 (or even post-game) to build your final team since you get such a wide variety to choose from early, but it also goes back to it feeling almost TOO convenient and easy. And from what I gather, even if you don't catch a Riolu right at the start, you're still just flat out gifted a Lucario with it's mega evolution item a bit later on.
Make me work for it, at least a bit. It feels so much better to accomplish something when you've had to at least do a modicum of work for your success, rather than just being given a big "I WIN" button.
