Watching "In the Beginning" post Season-4 really ties together the lore of the Earth-Minbari War, as well as other events that took place over the series. That's true. Also if you do plan to watch Crusade after B5, "A Call to Arms" would be recommended. What I didn't like in "In the Beginning" though was the depiction of Sheridan defeating the BlackStar. When they introduce him in season 2, they make it sound like a strategy he thought up and enacted. In the movie though, he's not even the commander of the mission and he just sort of wings it. I just think it sounded more impressive when it seemed like its own event, as opposed to the attack of a cornered, wounded animal True
It was also described as being part of the Battle of the Line (mining Sol's asteroid belt) and took out several ships besides the Black Star. I suspect resource limitations played a role in how that scene unfolded |
