A battery that won't die for upwards to 50 years is being worked on, but as far as unending energy, no.... That's impossible, the source will always have a break in it at some point in time. Nothing lasts forever.

They'd be better off attempting to process thorium-232 into energy. Roughly 8 grams of Thorium would power the typical car for a century. Only thing is that when thorium is attacked by neutrons, thorium-232 becomes thorium-233, thus eventually decaying into uranium-233.

That's true but not entirely. Self-sustaining nuclear fusion is a thing. The sun is basically exactly that.

True, every star, including our sun, will eventually die, so technically you're right. But in practice, if we manage to create a self-sustaining nuclear reactor, we'll basically have a source of energy that is for all intents and purposes, eternal.
