Three years ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 estrogen receptive metastatic breast cancer. I feel very fortunate and blessed to be in remission. But I feel compelled to do my part in raising awareness about the importance taking care of one's body and getting what ever tests your doctor recommends in a timely manner. Cancer strikes all ages and groups of people. No one is immune at this time. stupidcancer.org/

Now the constant fear of it returning is there. My grandad, on my mom's side also died of cancer, kidney cancer, so I feel really lucky having it on both sides of the family lol.

I'm very happy for your dad and wish him and all of you the best. May he remain in remission. Take good care of him. And take good care of your brain, too. You don't want to become morose or paranoid about getting cancer because of your family history, but you should be more observant than usual. Genetic testing is a great idea in a situation like yours. Honestly though, the doctors fucked up cause back when he was in good shape when the cancer hit, he weighed about 190lbs/86kg and they were giving him enough chemo for that weight and ofc he dropped down to about 105lbs/47.6 and they kept giving him chemo and radiation for an almost 200lbs guy. Now he's pushing everyone away, I saw him yesterday for his bday and he went full on douche bag on my mom. He's lucky he has cancer cause I was about to say something, I had to walk away. /rant

That was pretty sad, hit my dad hard. We keep a picture of him in the kitchen. So I see him every day. He is buried in NY, have not visited him in a while tho. Should probably do that tbh. The good news is medical advancements happen every day. Hopefully soon they will be able to treat/cure this with minimal issues.

I find it disturbing that they didn't alter your uncle's dosages in the same way. Are you sure? Sounds like malpractice to me, but I'm not a lawyer. Maybe your uncle should to talk to one though.

She thankfully was able to kick it's ass, but not without it taking it's toll on her that's for sure. She's been in unstable health since even though she's been cancer free for about the last year or so. Which really sucks. Yeah fuck off cancer.
