IMO, the forum sections are already more divided than I would like. I don't think splitting the OT into different sections would help. The onus is on the posters to contribute to the topic of threads they like, and if they post something compelling enough, others will will reply. The direction of the topic is driven by a combination of the OP and the most popular posts in a thread. Where the moderation team comes in is in situations where users are in violation, or at risk of violating the VSN rules. In a practical sense, this is when personal shitfighting starts and insults are exchanged between users. From a personal perspective (and this is something I need to do more as well), I urge everyone to ignore personal back and forths. Continue on with posting in threads with the intent to contribute good discussion. Don't feed the trolls. It may require some extra effort to find good discussion points from before the time a thread gets derailed, but starving un-necessary conflict of oxygen is one way to ensure that it goes away over the long term. If you also feel that the posts go a step too far, you can also report them so that Vroom or Liam can exercise their judgement on the matter. This community isn't big enough to sustain additional segmentation, we probably need a way to attract more people coming here, or get the people already here to post more in order to diversify forum content. But I'd have no idea how to do either. In any case, no to splitting up the OT section further. I'm glad I put it up for a vote and talked it out with the rest of the community instead of just implementing it, this makes me feel like it is a bad idea (I'm going to leave the poll up though, cause I promised that I'd raise the issue and leave it to a community vote).
