In 970, King Siemowit "the Wise" II of Poland and Lithuania formed the Wendish Empire: The Byzantines hav ebeen rather successful at retaking their terroritory outside of Bulgaria. The of Mercia family formed and united England. The Karling's have shockingly held on to all of their titles, and for a period of fifty years united the Kingdoms of West Francia and Aquitaine. Norway and Sweden were formed and converted to Christianity to avoid holy wars. The Abbasid's have also retained power, but they really haven't expanded anywhere. Meanwhile, the Saffarid's never fully eliminated the Tahirid's, but they did take out the Samanid's before falling to the Tahirid's in a claim war. Asturias has regained some territory from the Ummayad's which really shocked me, and the Khazar's are fucking scary. I'm glad I don't share borders with them (yet). Poland has been feudal for about seventy years now, and I'm finally able to start earning money off of my (limited due to Gavelkind) demesne. The Jews have been expelled twice, both times under a Siemowit king, and Poland will be inherited by grandsons two rulers in a row. I'll likely do one of my "recorded history" write ups a bit later on for the Piast family.
