I saw a pic going around on Facebook that showed an ISIS trooper with a tattoo (kind of a red-flag right there, tattoos are generally frowned upon in the Islamic faith) on his very fair-skinned forearm. Upon further inspection (close up), the tattoo is revealed to read "U.S. Army" -!

I'm not saying ISIS is a completely fabricated thing, but ...

The US is a war-machine. We run on killing people. And, since they prefer not to kill people too much like themselves, it's brown folks that are being massacred. Back when the Great Depression struck, it took us many years and failed economic policies before we recovered. What brought us out of it? The war. We would soon discover that the active use and production of arms, armor, vehicles, and everything that comes with it helps get our economy running nicely again.

ISIS may have been a real thing, but it likely was never a real threat, but the US needed an enemy to keep the war-machine running. And so we have propped them up, to continue doing what we do best.

It all comes back to the almighty dollar in the end.

But you have the financial industry, which is run mostly by very wealthy Jewish interests, and Hollywood which is also a very powerful lobby, and in the past has used their power to lobby govt.... So I'd say some Jewish people have a very big say in how the US runs..

Funny thing is a lot of the banks and financial institutions that caused the GFC never ever got so much as a fine or any kind of penalty for what they did. That's a very funny thing..

i think US of A were trying to recreate Libian scenario in Syria. Make a no-fly zone. Bomb syrian army from the air. Just like they did it with Gaddafi.

Reading a lot of news articles about Syria. Too many "if" and "presumably" and "annomymous source", hell Associated Press even had ISIS terrorist on Skype yesterday.

Last I read on the subject Osama's little faction of the Mujaheddin never accepted aid from the West due to his strong "convictions", he also didn't need the monetary support due to his background. The Mujaheddin was a label applied to a very wide range of fighters. Not all were crazy Taliban types, they just happened to emerge as the victor once everybody started fighting for control (after the Soviet withdrawal and the Afghan government they installed collapsed).

Ultimately it was just another chapter in the long saga of proxy wars between us and the Soviet Union. They routinely did the same.

Let the Russians support Assad as much as they want. The effort to train moderate rebel groups has thus far been a complete failure. People will make noise about the Russians/Syrians using cluster munitions, thermobarics, and everything else the humanitarian groups take issue with but that isn't our problem. For once they'll be whining about somebody other than the "big bad imperialist Americans".

We couldn't find the "moderate Syrian rebels" before, we aren't going to magically find them now even if we throw a few more billion dollars at it.
