This should surprise no one, really. The only thing that's somewhat concerning is how much more expensive season passes are becoming. Say goodbye to $20 season passes. The only Season Pass I've ever bought was Telltale's Game of Thrones one because it was supposed to save me $5 or $10 and I knew I was going to get the whole series. It didn't work though and I had to get a refund on it. I don't really understand how season passes have become so popular. Although, that being said, I'll probably buy Fallout 4's when the first DLC hits because I have an idea what I'll be getting. It's just sad that Season Passes and DLC are getting so expensive. Well, since AAA companies can't rise the game price above the $60 limit they may be using season passes to that effect. The only season passes I've bought are for games like Life Is Strange or Tales from the Borderlands and that's mostly because there's no option to buy the episodes separately. In the case of AAA titles you have to be very wary nowadays that the content you're paying will be worth it and that you won't instead get burned (e.g.: Arkham Knight season pass). Back to Battlefront, I feel it should've been a $40 game instead of $60. A season pass for map packs is anathema for me. However, I might considering buying a ($20) season pass for extra content in the form of short campaigns. Just pick a few planets, craft a story around them, throw in some cinematics, rinse, and repeat. Sadly, it looks like DICE really is trying to get away with the bare bones effort here.
