Pffft... caught by a brief stint of actual work this semester, so I haven't had time for much since finishing HxH. But I did manage to start reading PMMM:TDS Soooo... A PMMM manga that fleshes out lacking characters and relations that can actually pass as canon? (thus far anyway) Yes please!
First off, the art in this is really damn nice, and given that's one of my favourite elements of PMMM anyways, that's quite notable that its managed to emulate it. The witch designs are fantastic, and the benefit of static imagery means its kinda fun just to analyse their designs and have a think about what sort of person they might have been based off of them. And Mami and particularly Kyoko are just so expressive, some of the still shots tell you more about what they're thinking than the actual dialogue does. Its often rare I actually pick up on that in comics.
It also helps that those two are just so hnnnnggghhhh inducingly awesome together.
Rather stupidly however, despite it feeling like a genuine PMMM story, I clearly forgot what that entails briefly before being quickly reminded, as it started going through some of the more downplayed emotional moments from the anime.
Cool seeing how that all played out.
But still.
You monstah.
Let me know your thoughts when you finish it :3 it will tug at the feels I strongly suspect 'Strongly suspect' he says... with me that's a guarantee then. >__> But yes, I will! Yeah, the art that the manga deliver is suprisingly good and similar enough to the show that the manga feel more legitimate And yeah about our two girls. The manga enhance both of them so much and not only that but also tie a few things together that the show only mentioned briefly. Loved Kyoko already and the manga only made it stronger but Mami got some much needed attention aswell Its great seeing Kyoko off the bat without any of the bluster she first had in the anime to deal with Sayaka. I know its mostly due to certain consequences of her wish having not quite happened yet, (where I'm at) but I also like to think it's due in part to her being introduced alongside someone who's immediately earned her respect, as opposed to the upstart rookie she first sees Sayaka as. Its just cooler that way X3
