I'm of the opinion that the lore of mass effect ceased to be relevant with the second game, and died entirely with the third game. I'm willing to forgive any asspull they do, any retarded non-science idea they throw out there, and pretty much let any retcon they preform slide, if it means getting a good game out of it. That means a game with a good story, good game-play, and an enjoyable amount of replay ability and a universe you can get immersed into. Take the eviscerated components of what's left of mass effect post ghost-kid, harvest what's useful, and create something new to carry on the franchise is the route I want them to go with. Trying to justify everything in the MU, especially those endings, is just going to lead to a lot of head aches for people. Like with Metal Gear for example, and them going full blown magic and then trying to walk it back with techno-babble. This game might as well just be a reboot of the series, and that what I'm looking at it as/hoping it is. A chance to establish a new lore, new rules, and get a good game out of the gate without a billion explinations trying to drag it back to the god-kid and RBG ending. A sequel wouldn't be a problem post-ME3 if Bioware didn't needlessly cling to the Save Import system. Not really. Even without save imports you'd still be handcuffed to the reaper invasion and all the stupidity involved with it. Even if you got rid of the choices you'd still need to include the crucible as having saved the day, or failed and made the entire game not only pointless, but any future installment just as nonsensical as one incorporating the endings. Because it'd still have be based on one of the endings, the nobody wins refuse ending. It'd be like going from KOTOR to KOTOR 2 and pretending revan never existed, and that Malak was still alive, and that all that happened in the last game was a robot got booted up.
