I am sticking to my theory about the Resistance becoming corrupt, that they are trying to acquire control of the "Starkiller superweapon" and not to destroy it, but to use it for their own means. They have become Imperialist dicks. Also Luke is not dead or evil, but in self-imposed exile simply because his understanding of the force has become "grey", that is; not adhering to the traditional dichotomy of "Dark & Light". He believes that there is a grey area, that despite being very difficult to tread, can use both the power of the dark & the benevolence of the light. The key is control and personal responsibilty. /rant
