Finished it. I have to admit Eidos really outdid themselves with the side quests in this one; they were much better than the ones in DXHR, to my mind. The main storyline is not particularly original, true, but watching it unfold was quite engaging. For better or worse, your early impressions of all the (relevant) characters in DXMD is bound to be the correct one. Considering the number of new characters introduced in Jensen's circle, I'd say the writers did a pretty good job of making us care about them to some degree or another. I'm hoping that DX3 will feature a mix between the old and the new guard, with some of the guys at TF29 working together with Malik, Pritchard, and Sarif; maybe even Megan could show up to butt heads with Aria (or any of the multiple women in Jensen's life really). Also, props to whomever designed the TF29 headquarters 'cause that place really felt alive, with people frantically scrambling to resolve different situations.
The ending did not feel at all abrupt to me, what I find odd considering how vocal people have been about this issue. I felt it was the natural resolution to the main storyline. Yes, the Iluminatti are still out there but, let's be realistic, exposing them would be more than enough material for another game. Maybe Eidos could make a DLC where Jensen tracks one of its members (he has two names to go on at the end of the game) but I doubt it. All I ask is that they don't take the Assassin's Creed route, releasing game after game with no end in sight.
Oh, and before I forget, I really hope Jensen will team up with a certain someone (01011000) in DX3. I guess it would me too much to hope they elope together after that (but he did suggest it!).
PS: I don't want to take the metro ever again.
