Now if film adaption are something you'd entertain, I personally recommend Oliver Parker's 1995 version. Amazing casting in general and Kenneth Branagh will always be best Iago to me, same as Laurence Fishburne will always be best Othello. :') Of course because it's an adaptation, there are some things cut but nothing I felt truly hurt the source material or anything like that.

I like that Shakespeare kind of supports cutting shit if it still keeps to the heart of the story (Hamlet). Cool guy that playright.

The ending came together nicely and was executed with perfection. It is weird, though. I have been reading this series since the mid 90s, and now it is over. It left a void in me. I got that when I finished The Wheel of Time series as well.

I never read Mallory's Morte'D'Arthur but now that I am it's clearly the source for a lot of the things that came out of Arthurian legend. Also, the occasional Viking Saga.

I thought it was interesting that the Asyniur were distinct from Asgardians... it's like there were two divine classes or something.... I also thought it was interesting that Freyr and Freya were brother and sister.. I thought they were the same person and just different spellings. I can't remember which one I'm on now but Loki is one of the main characters in it...

And yeah, compared to his last two chronicles, these aren't cutting it. I wouldn't call them awful, but the last two chronicles were experiences in themselves. It's a cheesy way to put it, but those books taught me a lot about life and myself. It's huge shame seeing how these books have been a huge part of my life for the last few years. In terms of personal impact, I'd put it right below the Lord of the Rings cinematic trilogy as it, along with A Song of Ice and Fire, really did spark up my love for literature. I'll read the last one after a break and put a close to this chapter in my life. I think I'll start the Dune series pretty soon. Heard they're great.

I mean honestly I think the Viking Sagas are worth a read, if only because they delineate the differences between kind of mainland Germanic myths and Scandinavian for lack of a better description.... Even though they are related, it would be silly to equate the two, is what I concluded... I mean that's true for most things but particularly true here it seemed to me. Er, and I guess more... but nothing that comes to mind right this second...

Despite his leanings towards going rather haywire with political opinions in his books, the characters are great. He is rather good with plots too, really. So far this book is one of the better ones he has written in a long time. I remember the first 4 Sword of Truth books being fantastic, but the writer turned into "politics-prophet" for the rest of the series. It kind of got old fast, but I stuck with them anyway. Felt worth it in the end.

Chainfire almost made me quit the series too. I think that book had the worst of his politics. Yeah he has calmed down quite a bit in the newer novels (or gotten better at hiding it).

Got up to thirty and I'm gonna take a break. This is an old story from 153fuckknows and it's pretty funny and great and also really ambitious, but it's not all too compelling narrative wise (you really just read it for 'dem sick lines in verse). Shakespeare/Marlowe/Webster/Jonson are way better lol, and they came around 50 years later. But still, it's a parody of ancient tales, so even back then they spoofed some shit. Pretty rapey and violent too, I'm not sure if the entitlement is supposed to be so OTT that it's being made fun of, or if he's being serious about... yeah he's being serious (though the guy is quite progressive, a few female badasses in here, and one of his characters shamed Slut shaming so yay.) For the break I'm gonna go for something lighter but just as (and probably moreso) stimulating. I bought the thing so I might as well read it Can't wait.
