Well that's a pet peeve of mine that characters just escape whenever they feel like in a lot of fiction these days. Triss was captured more than once though, and that's really where I begin to take issue with it. I don't actually see anything wrong with the damsel trope, is just a trope like any other it can be executed well or not so well. Obviously there is the issue of it being overused historically and that's unfortunate. The big problem with Triss is her inconstancy and how CDP continues to try to ignore some of the shit she did in the books. That fact that it's never brought up that she sold Ciri out because she feared Philippa makes me very bitter or what she did to Geralt is just swept aside because TRISS IS SWEET AND CUTE!
