I don’t even think it’s wholly recent thing that Trump ushered in, either. This was brewing under Obama, and it revealed itself with every appalling, norm-breaking action by the opposition to him. ... which is exactly why I want our next Dem PotUS not to be a cool, laid-back leader like O was. That approach failed to prevent Trump. We need someone with LBJ pragmatism: twist arms, go for the throat, and for heavens sake **use** the bully pulpit. It was a pain watching Obama bend over backwards for the Republicans when he didn’t even have to do so in the first place. He had the House and the Senate; they couldn’t do shit. It’s like he was afraid of offending the sensibilities of older Southern gentlemen or he really wanted Republicans to like him. It’s like he was still high off the campaign trail, being used to being surrounded by adoring crowds that he thought he could replicate in the government. And that’s why we got a healthcare reform bill that could’ve been written by the health insurance industry. (Indeed, a bill that was written by a libertarian think tank.) What the left needs is a mean cur who’ll make conservatives sob great, salty tears, which will form a river (the Cuck River, as it’ll be known), and a hydroelectric plant will be constructed in that river to power 500 megachurches and several CPAC conferences. After that, conservatives can all move to Montana where they can pass the time constructing bunkers, stockpiling weapons caches, and communing with St. Ronnie’s ghost, and then end the evening by beating off to Nancy Reagan’s official White House portrait. Decency, decorum, and respect in government have been dead since the Republicans impeached Clinton. Obama swam with a scorpion on his back by trying to restore them. I mean what is the next President to do to restore decency, decorum, and respect before making an effort to save the country, summon the ghost of Christmas past in the hope of turning McConnel into a better man? Obamacare was an extremely conservative compromise, and the Republicans still undermined it and demonized it at every turn. Thanks to McConnell, Obama and Joe Fucking Lieberman (Ratfucker-CT) we got the aforementioned healthcare bill: a law required that people buy a product that is too expensive to use. Bring back the public option!
